What this policy covers
DinDin is a subscription meal-planning service. We store what is needed to run your account, save your planning work, process subscriptions and protect the service — and we share it only with the providers that help us run it.
Information we collect

How we use it
- Provide recipe saving, meal planning, grocery, pantry, calendar, and account features.
- Sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
- Process subscriptions, plan changes, credits, renewals, cancellations, and billing support through Stripe.
- Send service emails such as login, verification, security, subscription, and account notices.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
- Operate AI features when you choose to use them, including sending the information needed to generate meal suggestions.
What we measure, and what we deliberately do not
On the public pages we record a small set of named events — a page was viewed, a call to action was clicked, an account was created — together with the page address, how long the page was open and how far it was scrolled. We also collect standard page-performance measurements. The signed-in app is not measured this way.
We do not record your screen or your session. We do not automatically capture what you click, type, hover or scroll past, and we do not build heatmaps or record rage-clicks. Recipe text, household notes, food allergies, support messages, payment details and private share links are never sent to an analytics provider.
DinDin does not currently use third-party behavioral-advertising cookies or retargeting pixels.
Food allergies
The Food allergies field holds the names of foods or ingredients you want DinDin to avoid in recipe and drink suggestions. It is a list of ingredients, not a medical record: we do not ask for, and you should not enter, diagnoses, medications, treatment information, symptoms, severity, or anything else from a medical history.
We use it only to exclude those ingredients from the recipe, planning and drink features you ask for. When a request you made needs the exclusions, the ingredient names go to the AI provider handling that request and to nothing else — never to image generation, and never to a provider that does not need them.
We do not sell it. We do not use it for advertising or sponsorship targeting, put it into analytics, page addresses or marketing systems, infer a diagnosis from it, or show it to Cooks or other members.

Where it is stored, and how it is protected
Account and planning data is stored in the systems used to operate DinDin, including application databases, file storage for supported uploads, logs and backups. Some providers process data in the United States or in other places where they operate.
We use account authentication, access controls, limited internal access, monitoring and encryption in transit where appropriate. No internet service can promise perfect security; our posture is to reduce access and protect planning data by default.
Your controls
- Download your data — Settings includes an account export so you can keep a copy of your recipes, planning data, and account state.
- Change or remove content — You can edit recipes, pantry items, grocery lists, profile details, calendar entries, and settings directly in the app.
- Disconnect integrations — You can disable calendar sync in Settings. If you connected Google Calendar, you can also revoke access from your Google account.
- Deactivate your account — Settings includes account deactivation. Deactivation removes application data from primary systems, subject to limited retention described below.
Retention
We keep account and planning data while your account is active, so your recipes, meals, lists and settings remain available.
DinDin keeps personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, process billing and creator payments, resolve disputes, establish consent and account history, comply with legal and tax obligations, enforce agreements, and exercise or defend legal claims. How long we keep something can differ by category and by what the law requires.
Closing an account or deleting content does not always require immediate deletion of billing records, fraud and security records, legal-consent records, public-content audit records, tax and payment records, backups, or information another member has independently saved or received.
Closing your account
Closing your account stops normal account access. Some information may be retained where it is needed for billing, creator subscriptions, fraud and security, legal compliance, dispute history, public-content records, or backups. Privacy deletion requests are handled separately.
- Cancelling a subscription is not the same as closing your account, and closing your account does not by itself cancel a subscription.
- Billing and payment records stay with Stripe under its own obligations, and we keep the records we need for tax, accounting and disputes.
- Security, fraud and audit records are kept where we need them, and records of what you agreed to are kept as evidence of that agreement.
- Anything you published publicly may already have been saved, shared or copied by other people, and DinDin cannot retrieve those copies.
- If you have published as a cook, some records are kept so existing subscriptions, payouts and disputes can be resolved — a published cook profile cannot be fully removed.
- You can still make a privacy request afterwards where the law gives you that right.
Where the law gives you a deletion or access right, you can exercise it through a privacy request.
Privacy requests
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to make a consumer health data request, to change an advertising or privacy choice, or to appeal a decision we have made. Start one through the Privacy Request topic on the Contact page. You do not need to know which law applies.
We may need to verify your identity before we act, particularly for access and deletion — that is the step most requests wait at, and we will tell you exactly what we need. Where part of a request has to be carried out by a service provider, such as our payment processor, we will say so rather than leaving it looking unanswered.
If we decline a request we will tell you why, and you can appeal. We keep a record of what was asked, what we searched, what we did, and what we told you.
AI features
When you use an AI feature we send that feature what it needs — the request itself and the relevant planning context — to an AI provider. We do not send more than the feature needs, and AI output is a suggestion to review before you cook, not advice to follow.
Children
DinDin is intended for adults managing household meal planning. It is not directed to children, and children should not create accounts. Household details you add should be limited to what planning actually needs.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. If a change is material we will take reasonable steps to notify account holders, such as an in-product notice or an email. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
